Wonders of Neem Oil Spray and Bad News for Flies

March 4, 2017

I'll keep it quick, summer midges and flies are a nuisance and effect our enjoyment with our horses but also can make our horses miserable due to the persistence and constant nagging of these critters.

We all look and pay large amounts of money to find something that works and in general most off the shelf products are useless and  can also be toxic.

If you have not heard of Neem oil then you may not be aware of the benefits this wonderful natural ingredient can deliver.

Neem oil is derived from the fruits and seeds of the evergreen Neem Tree mainly found in India and has been used for centuries in Ayurvedic therapies. Neem oil is also used extensively in organic farming as a natural pesticde.

So how can it help my horse? Spray the coat where flies like to hang out, you will find that they will no longer feel at home on your horses skin and basically buzz off!

This wonderful natural product is also very useful for sweet-itch as well as a fly repellent.

For use around the eyes avoid spraying and use a sponge to apply in the sensitive areas.

So you have tried everything else, pop to the shop tab and give it a go.
