Before applying flush and cleanse the area to be applied to ensure all debris, grit and dirt are removed, dry then apply enough hoof guard to fill the cavity flush with the hoof surface.

The blend of ingredients create adherence properties to hold on to the walls of small cavities, holes and crevices on the hoof walls, frog and soles

Epsom Salt Paste

For drawing and soreness in horse’s hooves, pack the frog or abscessed area and apply a gauze dressing and secure all with vet wrap.

Really useful product for abscesses

Really rate this for abscesses in horses, have used it to pack the sole of the hoof before applying the poultice and dressing over the top. So far have had good results and it's definitely an easier and more effective solution for drawing out.

Thought I'd give this a try as the 'traditional' cotton wool based poultices just weren't working for my horses really stubborn and painful hoof abscess. He would not weight bare, even after 3 vet visits and xrays to locate the abscess. Within 2 days of using this poultice he has started walking around and weight bearing!! Wouldn't use anything else now for the initial drawing period.

What is this for?
It’s a ready‑to‑use poultice paste intended for hooves that feel tender after work or where there’s a need for drawing or support in compromised areas of the hoof.

How do I apply it?
Pack the frog or affected area of the hoof, then cover with gauze and secure with vet‑wrap or similar. Change the dressing once or twice every 24 hours.

How often should I use it?
Use as required when the hoof is tender, or after riding on rough terrain where the sole/frog may have been stressed. A single dressing change every 24 hours is suggested but can be changed more often as required.

What are the main ingredients?
The paste is made of 60% epsom salt (magnesium sulphate), natural minerals and vegetable extracts.

Are there any precautions?
Yes, ensure the hoof is cleaned before packing, apply carefully so the dressing stays in place, and monitor the horse. If hoof issues are severe (deep abscesses, structural damage) consult a farrier or vet.
