TerraHoof High Density Hoof Putty Pot

TerraHoof —  Hoof Putty for shallow hoof cracks and crevices

TerraHoof is a dense mineral-rich clay blend created to support the hoof when shallow cracks, surface splits,  frog creases and flaps need a clean, protective layer to guard against moisture, grit and microbes.

Its smooth, pliable texture makes it easy to press into those areas that are shallow.

Once applied, TerraHoof settles into the shape of the cavity and forms a breathable shield that helps keep out unwanted moisture and debris while the hoof strengthens and recovers.

Made with gentle ingredients, TerraHoof is ideal for:

  • Surface-level white-line separation

  • Frog grooves and shallow fissures

  • Mild thrush-prone pockets

  • Under pads or stick-on shoes

  • Day-to-day protection

Whether you’re dealing with minor cracks or simply keeping the hoof cleaner and more supported, TerraHoof offers a natural way to maintain a healthier hoof environment — without harsh chemicals or heavy-handed treatments.

For wider deeper cavities a fibre-packed product like Hoof Guard is recommended.

  • 1. Clean the Area Thoroughly

Start by brushing away loose mud and debris.
If the hoof has been washed, let it dry until the surface is only slightly damp — this helps TerraHoof grip without slipping.

    2. Assess the Depth of the Crevice

TerraHoof works best in shallow to medium cracks, frog clefts, and surface gaps where deeper packing products can’t hold.
If you can easily press a fingertip into the space, TerraHoof is usually the right choice.

    3. Warm a Small Amount Between Your Fingers

    Scoop a fingertip of TerraHoof.
The warmth of your hands softens it slightly, making it more pliable and easy to press into place.

    4. Press TerraHoof into the Crevice or Gap

Use your thumb to spread or press the clay directly into the area you want to protect.
Aim to fill the space fully so the clay forms a smooth, flush surface.

    5. Smooth the Edges

Once the crevice is filled, run a finger along the edges to seal it.
This helps TerraHoof stay put during work, turnout, and regular movement.

    6. Reapply as Needed

    Reapply:

    • after heavy rain or muddy conditions

    • whenever the material looks worn away

    • or as part of your routine hoof maintenance 2–4 times a week

Consistency is more important than heavy application — a thin, well-seated layer works perfectly.

    7. Safe Under Pads or Boots

TerraHoof can also be spread as a thin coat under pads or hoof boots to maintain cleanliness and support a healthier environment.
